Waterwise Big Book
We use water every day of our lives. In developed countries like Ireland, it’s easy to take it for granted. Use this book to give children an appreciation of how differently people use water around the world.
Water is the focus of science investigations across the Early Years Curriculum. It is a natural resource that children are familiar with and is fundamental to both their physical well-being and their play.
Waterwise teachers' notes provide suggestions for the use of this book and activities to further develop understandings by exploring and investigating water use. By comparing their own use of water to photographs of children around the world in Waterwise, children can expand their understanding of other cultures. Some children may also be able to relate to personal experiences in countries other than Ireland.
Waterwise also provides the basis for discussion about water use, water restrictions, and droughts.
