Bring games and shared learning to the picnic table

Make an outdoor table a place to gather, think and play. Gameboard surfaces offer another way to use the same space across breaks, small-group activities and outdoor lessons.

Choose the right board and table together

Our Junior Picnic Bench Including Gameboard Top combines seating with a shared play surface. Check the table size, board design and mounting requirements together before ordering; boards are not automatically compatible with every bench.

Simple classroom ideas

  • Use a chess board to practise explaining a choice and taking turns.
  • Use snakes and ladders to talk about counting on, comparing positions and responding to setbacks.
  • Use a multiplication board for partner questions: one pupil chooses a fact and the other explains a strategy.

Keep a small weatherproof box of suitable counters nearby, and agree where pieces are stored when the activity ends.

Colour that helps the space feel welcoming

Some Marmax picnic benches offer bright insect-inspired designs, including bumblebee, ladybird and caterpillar themes. Colour and board options depend on the model. Check the product selector or contact us for the available combinations.
