Build a visible connection between counting, order and calculation with these double-sided 1–20 EVA number strips. One side is numbered and the reverse is blank, giving children room to explain their own representations.

Classroom ideas to try
- Cross ten: start at eight and add five, moving two to reach ten and then three more to reach thirteen.
- Order and compare: place pegs at twelve and seventeen. Explain which is larger and count the spaces between them.
- Make a pattern: mark every second number and predict the next position before placing the peg.
Invite children to explain what they notice, compare different strategies and choose equipment that suits their learning.
